mimoLive licensing

Which edition for which organisation

mimoLive is licensed on what the organisation using it is, not on how big the production gets. An eight-camera control room in a university falls under the same edition as a two-camera studio in that same university. This page is here to place your organisation before you talk to a reseller.

The two professional editions

Edition

Studio

The edition for commercial and institutional use. It covers the large majority of professional projects.

  • Businesses and corporations
  • Event agencies, marketing agencies, production studios
  • Schools, colleges and universities, state and private
  • Places of worship
  • Public bodies and local authorities
  • Healthcare organisations
  • Recognised non-profit organisations
  • Community TV stations
  • Creators and podcasters whose content is monetised

Edition

Broadcast

The edition for mass media. It applies as soon as broadcasting is the organisation's own line of business.

  • Commercial TV stations
  • Broadcasting companies
  • Radio stations
  • Mass media groups

These organisations are not covered by the Studio edition.

A third edition exists on the publisher's side, reserved for individuals with no monetisation whatsoever. It rules out organisations, non-profits and education included, and is not part of what resellers offer.

What actually separates them

Support

Studio comes with Boinx professional support. Broadcast adds the FASTLANE priority tier, built for operations where air time cannot wait in a queue.

mimoCall

Remote guests join through mimoCall on both editions. Broadcast additionally lets you customise the interface the guest sees, which matters when it carries a channel identity.

Graphics and integrations

The Lower Thirds 1 and Sports Graphics packs, ATEM switcher control, the Zoom Meeting source and SDI playout with fill and key are identical on both editions. This is not where the choice is decided.

Term, seats and services

Term

The annual subscription is the usual route. Three-year and five-year terms exist for professional organisations; they come from the reseller on request and are not listed online. This is what to ask for when a budget is voted across several financial years.

Seats

One licence covers one seat. Discounts apply from several seats upwards, available from the reseller on request.

Related services

Boinx builds custom layers to order, an animated graphics set specific to a show for instance. One-to-one coaching sessions with a Boinx engineer are available as well.

Getting a licence

mimoLive licences are bought from an authorised reseller, who handles the subscription, the renewals and first-level support. HoriCast runs that network across France and the Benelux and points you to the right contact for the project. A free evaluation licence, unlocking every feature, lets you prove an architecture before committing to anything.
